If ethics could be taught, I could sell you a bridge on the Chicago river

1. Ethics cannot be taught. People will cheat if given a chance; the only thing that stops them is fear of being caught and its consequences. Bottomline - most people cheat/do evil things, after doing cost -benefit analysis. Surprise it took Gary Becker a Nobel Laureate to say this thing which is obvious to even an illiterate beggar in India.
2. Books like these are written so that when MBA do fraud after their graduation, the Universities which mint these MBA's can absolves themselves by saying '' look we did teach ethics as part of coursework''
3. Enron too had ethics policy. And of course do did Lehman Brothers etc.
4. The purpose of books like these is for arm chair teachers to make a quick buck, and feel good about themselves
5. The book is repetitive, to be fair, the author does lay out framework needed for executives rather well - good job, but that material is good enough for an internet article, no need for this verbose book.
